A big thank you to the Grade 1P & 1A parents who provided delicious treats and assisted at today’s cake sale. We had a wonderful turnout of special helpers, and we are grateful for your time and support.
Along with the sweet treats and cheerful atmosphere of the morning, the cake sale also supports our outreach programme, and an amount of R2165 was raised.
Please note our learners return to school on Wednesday 14 October in their summer school uniform.

Library News
Happy Birthday Roald Dahl!
Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so crazy it’s unbelievable!
Matilda by Roald Dahl
This marvellous quote from the great Matilda shines with the optimism and enthusiasm that make Roald Dahl stories welcome in every classroom and household. As we celebrate Roald Dahl Day this coming Sunday, it is always a joy to introduce a new generation of readers to these fun and inspiring characters and stories.
Interesting Facts:
Roald Dahl (1916 - 1990) was born to Norwegian parents and lived in England for most of his life.
He grew up in a town where there were two chocolate factories, and the school children often had the opportunity to taste new products.
He was a fighter pilot in World War 2 and survived a crash landing in the Sahara desert.
He kept “office hours” and wrote in a little shed at the bottom of his garden.
He invented 393 new words, many of which can be found in the Oxford dictionary. Do you know what these words mean?
scrumdiddlyumptious; crodsquinkled; trogglehumper,
vermicious knids, gobblefunk
Thank you to the Book Club who celebrated their favourite characters crafting this gorgeous bunting, in time for Roald Dahl Day.
Birthday Books
Our birthday girls, Ntokozo and Zanda, brought beautiful Birthday Books to share this week. Ntokozo’s Funniest Storybook Ever is sure to bring lots of fun and giggles, and Zanda donated a lovely first chapter book with a great detective story and some clever pups. Thank you so much for these thoughtful gifts.
Academics
Foundation Phase (Grade 1 – 3) learners continue to complete both formal and informal assessments throughout the quarter on a regular basis to improve the knowledge, understanding or skills of the learners. They receive the standard report, which reflects codes and a comment from the class teacher.
Reports will be released on Friday 18 September.
Parent-Teacher Report Feedback meetings are scheduled for Friday 18 September, Monday 21 September and Tuesday 22 September. If you would like to meet with your child’s class teacher, please arrange a meeting via the Google Calendar link shared by the class teachers. Appointments are usually 15 minutes long. We greatly value our parents’ and teachers’ time and urge parents to be on time in order to ensure that other parents are not kept waiting. Please contact your child’s class teacher directly should you be unavailable to meet on the specific days and times scheduled.
