Junior Preparatory Weekly Memo
8 July 2024
Welcome back
Dear Parents
I hope you have all had a good break. We are very excited to welcome our learners back to school on Wednesday 10 July 2024. A special welcome to the new learners and families joining us this quarter. We hope you feel part of our Parklands College family very soon.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Admin, Housekeeping and Grounds Support staff for their dedication throughout the holiday. Their meticulous efforts in preparing, painting, plastering, landscaping and cleaning have created a welcoming environment for our learners.
Our weekly memo is once again filled with the children's beautiful art for you to enjoy.
The weekly memo which is sent out on a Friday, is our main form of communication and includes important information regarding the College. Please note that the blog format has changed this quarter and we hope that information will be more accessible and easy to find.

BIRTHDAY BOOKS
There is a heartwarming Parklands tradition that on our birthdays we share a gift with our friends by donating a book to the library. Our latest book donations will be included in our next blog.
Grade Two
Last quarter Grade 2P wrote Acrostic Animal Poems which we thought you would enjoy reading. Well done Grade Twos, these are very clever and fun to read!

We are looking forward to celebrating Nelson Mandela Day on Thursday 18 July. The learners will be involved in a fun run at school and we ask that each learner brings two tins of food to enter JP on the Run. The food will be donated to ECD centres in our area. Learners may wear their school tracksuits and house shirts for this event.
Please take note that blazers are to be worn every day to and from school (unless learners are wearing PE clothes.)
Classrooms are only opened at 7:30 when our teachers to arrive. To ensure their safety, please do not leave your children unaccompanied.
Enjoy the last two days of the holidays.
We wish you all a wonderful quarter and a fantastic first few days back at school.
